Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 6, 2026

My Status ("we", "our", or "us") is a social network for posts, stories, reels, direct messages, channels, groups, live broadcasts, and a video-ad marketplace built for users in Uzbekistan. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it when you use our mobile application or website.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and an authentication identifier (via Google Sign-In or email/password through Firebase Authentication). You may optionally add a profile photo, bio, and phone number.

User-generated content. Posts, reels, stories, comments, voice messages, chat messages, channel and group content, live broadcast streams and previews, and ad-slot videos that you choose to share are stored on our infrastructure (Cloud Firestore + Cloud Storage).

Camera and microphone. We request camera and microphone access only when you actively start a live broadcast, record a voice message, or capture media for a post / story / reel / ad. We do not access them in the background.

Media access. When you choose to upload from your gallery we read only the files you select.

Engagement and counters. We store likes, saves, follower / following relationships, read receipts, reactions, view counts, and ad impression / click counts to power the social features. These are visible to other users in line with the feature (for example, likes are public; saves are private to you).

Notification token. If you enable push notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging issues a device token that we use to deliver alerts (new messages, follows, comments, partnership requests, announcements). You can disable push at any time in your device settings.

Payment reference. When you book an ad slot you pay your local mobile carrier directly via USSD code *880*066645*amount#. We do not see your card or wallet details. We only store the reference number you submit so an admin can verify the transfer.

Reports. If you report another user, post, comment, or story, we record the report (reason, target, your user ID) so admins can review it.

Crash diagnostics. In release builds we collect anonymous crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics (stack trace, device model, OS version) so we can fix bugs. No message content or photos are included.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to operate the app and its core features: rendering your feed; delivering messages, calls, and notifications; running channels, groups, and live broadcasts; processing ad-slot bookings; enforcing community standards; and improving reliability.

3. AI-Assisted Features

Caption suggestions and image hashtags. When you tap the AI assist button while creating a post, the text hint and (optionally) the image you selected are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a caption and tags. The result is shown to you for approval before anything is published.

Content safety. Before any image or video is uploaded, we send a thumbnail to Gemini for an automated NSFW classification. If the classifier returns a high-confidence verdict that the content is sexual, the upload is blocked locally on your device and nothing is stored on our servers. The thumbnail is not retained by us after the check completes.

Use of Gemini is governed by Google's privacy terms in addition to ours.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud (Firestore, Cloud Storage) within Firebase, protected by industry-standard authentication and access rules. All transport between the app and our servers uses HTTPS / TLS — the Android app is configured to refuse cleartext traffic. Server-side Firestore Security Rules restrict what each user can read or write.

5. Public vs. Private Content

Posts, stories, reels, public channels, and public groups are visible to other signed-in users. Direct messages, private groups, private channels, your saves, and your reports are restricted to the participants involved (and admins for reports).

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following processors: Firebase Authentication (Google) for sign-in; Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage (Google) for data and media; Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) for push; Firebase Crashlytics (Google) for crash diagnostics; Google Sign-In; and Google Gemini for caption suggestions and content moderation. Each has its own privacy policy.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the processors listed above, and with law enforcement if required by Uzbekistan law and an enforceable legal request.

8. Children's Use

My Status is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the app. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Your Rights and Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated content at any time by emailing the address below. Once we verify the request we will delete your profile, posts, stories, messages, ad slots, and all other personal data within 30 days. Some content (such as messages already received by other users) may persist on those users' devices until they delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.

11. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to exercise your data rights, contact us at [email protected].
